I’ve received some emails from users that want the folder structure to be more like that of Capture One’s default session structure. Being a Leaf user I resisted for a while. Well I’ve been teching for a few Phase shooters lately and have come to like the Phase structure so here it is. Version 3.2 creates a Job folder with Captures, Trash, And Processed inside. Inside the Captures folder are the shot folders named as JobName_shot_001.

So my workflow for Phase is to run the Job_folder app to create the folders needed then switch over to C1 and create a blank session in the jobfolder. Then its just a much of adding the shot folders as favorites and setting the first shot as the capturefolder.

I’ve added a function to create a trash folder and at the end of the folder creation, the finder sets the job folder to a blue label and opens a window with the shot folders. This helps dropping the folders into CaptureOne favorites window pane. Download from here

Some have had problems after unzipping the V3 app please use this link here Use the BOMArchiverHelper app instead of Stuffit aswell.

I’ve finally gotten around to fixing the client area on rapdigital.net feel free to have a look here and provide feedback. Its probably not 100% secure but its hard enough to hack to make it not worth it. Please dont take that as an invitation to hack my site. Use demo as the user and pass.

As promised version 3 of the job folder app is now available for download.
Features include

  • Choose folder that JOB folder to be save to
  • set number of shot folders
  • saves a shot process folder in the JOB folder for each shot folder
  • This app is Mac only.

As I wrote over on the news page of rapdigital.net i recently wrote a apple script app that is intended for fellow digitechs and photographers. It creates a prompts you for a job foolder name and how many shot sub-directories you want to create. I find this to be the great workaround for doing it the manual way and makes it easier to manage all the files at the end of the day. The version that can be found here save the job folder to the root of the startup drive, ie. first level under the MacintoshHD drive. This is ok but the second version that I’ll post in the next day or two allows you to choose where you want the job folder to be. I also have an app that creates a process folder for each shot under the job folder. I’ll get them both up in the next few days.

From now on I’ll post new content here and have my tumblog that is over on rapdigital.net also update its content aswell.
